Soul Rebel & visitor David Burnett

It's an ABC product, but I'm confident Murrow would defer. See E.R.M. is one of David's big inspirations as a journalist and photographer. It will never be forgotten that he was climbing the hill beneath Peninsula College campus when asked who made a difference in his life: "Writer, photographer, anybody?"
   To which the witty, wise, raconteur responded: Ed Murrow.
   I was dumbstruck. Flabbergasted. Utterly slack jawed. You see E.R.M. is too much with us, all apologies to ee cummings.
   David pulls up his laptop from the footwell of the S.U.V. winding up the hill.
   "Yeah, I've got his London, Blitz broadcasts right here on my laptop. (available via EarthStation1.com.) You wanta hear some of them?!" David says this with a snap, in his high-speed gear that doesn't allow response let alone denial. Think a kid's voice on Christmas morning. Think a gift, a big metal, decoder ring just hit the back of a metal mailbox and the kid is sweaty running home in anticipation of this long-distance treasure.
  "Yeah, which one do you wanna liststen to?!"
    And I'm still thinking: "Is this for real?" I've been researching Murrow's early years for several years and this wild-haired, wild-eyed legendary, war photog and Nat'l Geo shooter was inspired by a radio legend? Seriously?!
   This is the man who just produced: "Soul Rebel" Who better to document Bob Marley?
   No one. It is a near perfect match: legend for documentary legend.
